Sunday School

SUNDAY SCHOOL - 11:15-Noon
Following the worship service, at 11:15, the Adult Sunday School class will be meeting in the Coffee Room and will be taught by Rev. Rick Porter. Rick will be facilitating a discussion on the documentary, "Truth Rising". Truth Rising is a powerful new Christian documentary that reminds us of a timeless truth: only God’s Word can anchor our faith and bring lasting hope to a broken world. This film boldly addresses today’s cultural confusion, identity crisis, and moral drift with biblical truth, historical wisdom, and Christ-centered clarity. This is more than just another Christian film—it’s a call to the Church. Presented by Focus on the Family and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, Truth Rising is a rallying cry for believers to stand strong in a culture that desperately needs Jesus.
Middle (7th-8th) and high school students will meet upstairs in the conference room and are studying the Gospel of John with teachers Dan McKay and Pastor David Johnson.
Children (Preschool-6th) will be meeting downstairs for their classes. Our youngest children through kindergarten will be taught by Kathy Borsari in our Nursery Room. In our lower fellowshiop hall, Margaret and Mark Grant will be teaching our 1st-3rd graders. Tricia Johnson and Judy Updegraff will be teaching our 4th-6th graders.
Our Sunday School program for children (Preschool-6th) is called, DiscipleLand (www.discipleland.com). Our heart's desire is that our children will "hide God's Word in their hearts". The Scripture tells us that if we, "train up a child when they are young (to know and trust the gospel of Christ) when they are old they will not depart from it." We seek to come alongside parents to nurture life-long, Christ-following disciples.
I thought of the word, koinonia, this afternoon as we gathered together after Sunday School. Koinonia is a Greek word that means fellowship, participation, community, sharing in common. What do we share in common? It is our new life in Christ. Koinonia was very important to the first century church and it is very important to our church!
Children's Church uses Bible songs and videos from Seeds Family Worship! They are Scripture word-for-word set to music.
