Nursery, Children's Church & Sunday School

"The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:6,7 (NIrV®)

During our Worship Service there is child care available downstairs in the Nursery room. Infants and children  (ages birth through kindergarten) may be checked in at 9:50 AM  or anytime throughout the service as they are  welcome to stay for the singing and then be  brought down by their parents and signed in. Please do not hesitate to ask an usher or greeter for directions to these areas.

Jesus took a little child and had the child stand among them. Then he took the child in his arms. He said to them, "Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.  And anyone who welcomes me also welcomes the one who sent me."  Mark 9:36-37 (NIrV®)

The Nursery Ministry at Grace Church seeks to show the love of Jesus to children (infants through kindergarten age) through Christ-like care.  Our CORI screened nursery workers provide a safe, secure, nurturing environment for children while leading a time of worship and teaching about the goodness of our God. There is a check in/check out procedure in place for each child and a silent usher system to notify parents if they are needed during the service.

Each Sunday directly after Worship in singing, children grades K-6 are dismissed to meet for Children's Church.  Children will exit by the door next to the pulpit.  The class is held in the upstairs Conference Room next to the church offices.  Our Children's Church curriculum is by Child Evanglism Fellowship.

We completed our fall teaching series,  "God's Sovereignty: The Life of Joseph." We are beginning a new five part teaching series in January, called,  "I Dare: The Amy Carmichael Story (1867-1951).  While she was traveling, teaching and working with adults in India, the Lord spoke to her heart to rescue the children living in the temple. Amy didn't have to search to find the first child she rescued from the temple. The child came ot her. Thus began a unique, God-driven work which demanded great courage. Amy Carmichael learned many important lessons in childhood which God used as she carried out His great work.

Children will be brought back down to sanctuary during the final worship song and will remain in the front row with their teacher. Families are asked to pick up their children directly after the sevice.

Sunday School will begin again this fall on October 2nd at 11:15 following the morning worship service. The Adult Sunday School class will be meeting in the Coffee Room and will be taught by Rev. Rick Porter. Middle and high school students will meet upstairs in the conference room. Children (N-5) will be meeting downstairs for their classes.

Our Sunday School program for children (N-5) is called, DiscipleLand (  Our heart's desire is that our children will "hide God's Word in their hearts".  The Scripture tells us that if we, "train up a child when they are young (to know and trust the gospel of Christ) when they are old they will not depart from it."  We seek to come alongside parents to nurture life-long, Christ-following disciples.

Children's Church uses Bible songs and videos from Seeds Family Worship! They are Scripture word-for-word set to music.
